Experience one of Africa’s most spectacular mountain landscapes in the Simien Mountains. This 4-day trekking adventure takes you through deep valleys, towering cliffs, alpine plateaus, and remote highland scenery while spotting endemic wildlife along the way.
Drive from Gondar to the Simien Mountains National Park headquarters at Debark (about 2–3 hours).
After park registration, continue driving to the trek starting point near Sankaber. Begin your first hike along the escarpment with breathtaking views of dramatic cliffs and valleys.
Wildlife such as Gelada baboons are often seen on the first day.
Overnight camping at Sankaber.
Trek from Sankaber to Geech Camp (approx. 5–6 hours).
This is one of the most scenic sections of the route. Visit Jinbar Waterfall and enjoy panoramic views across the escarpment.
The trail passes through open grasslands and giant lobelia plants typical of the high-altitude ecosystem.
Overnight camping at Geech.
Early morning hike to Imet Gogo viewpoint (one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Simien Mountains).
From here, enjoy 360-degree views of dramatic cliffs, peaks, and deep valleys.
Continue trekking across highland ridges before returning to Geech Camp.
Possible sightings of Walia ibex depending on route and season.
Overnight camping at Geech.
Morning trek back toward the park exit.
After completing the trek, transfer by vehicle back to Debark and continue driving to Gondar.
Tour ends in the late afternoon.
